Today Rachel was in town from Ine and Laurel and I went with her into Kyoto for hanami and a birthday party. We brought our new favorite drink Sheequarsar, an “alcoholic beverage from an Okinawan primeval orange brewed with fruity and tasteful.” It goes really well with Ginger Ale.
It was great to just sit by the river contemplating the evanescence of life (the whole reason Japanese people like cherry blossoms is because they only bloom for like a week), and eating tons of food while drinking with friends. I hadn’t seen a few of them in a while so it was nice to catch up.
